FAQ

What 3D printer do I need?

Any standard FDM printer works, including Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Ender, or similar. A 15 × 15 cm model fits on most print beds. We recommend PLA or PETG with a 0.2 mm layer height.

How accurate is the elevation data?

We use NASA SRTM and Copernicus DEM satellite data with a horizontal resolution of 30–90 meters. Every ridge, valley, and peak is based on real measurements.

What print size can I choose?

Choose 100 mm, 150 mm, or 200 mm. The model scales automatically, and portrait and landscape orientations are available.

What file formats are included?

You receive print-ready STL, 3MF, and OBJ files. The model, frame, water layer, and label are also available as separate parts for multicolor printing.

Can I print mountains anywhere in the world?

Yes. You can select any location with available elevation data, from famous mountain ranges to your local hiking trail.

Do rivers and lakes appear in the model?

Yes. Rivers, streams, and lakes can be included as a separate, slightly raised layer for printing in another color.

Which slicer settings work best?

Enable the Arachne wall generator and use a 0.2 mm layer height with at least 3 walls or perimeters. Supports are only needed for extreme overhangs.
